A hint of winter has begun to emerge in Nilphamari’s Dimla upazila, with light fog and dew appearing in the early mornings over the past few days.
Fields, crop lands, rural roads and open areas have been covered in a thin layer of fog before sunrise.
The fog gradually clears as the sun rises, while the weather remains warm during the day. A noticeable chill returns in the evening and at night.
Residents, particularly those living in open and char areas, say the cold feels more pronounced in the early morning.
Dew has also been settling on crops and grass, creating a distinctly wintry atmosphere.
Abdul Jalil, a resident of Dimla Sadar, said he had noticed light fog and cold air when going outside in the morning, although the weather remains warm during the day.
Char-area resident Khalilur Rahman said fog is more visible in the early morning, while a cool breeze can be felt in the evening.
Farmer Harihar Chandra Roy of Kalirdanga village said he has been experiencing fog and cold air while working in the fields early in the morning.
However, Dimla Meteorological Office acting officer Md Abdus Sabur Mia said the changing weather should not yet be considered the beginning of winter.
He said temperatures can feel relatively lower during the early morning and night during seasonal transitions, when light fog and dew may also occur.
Farmers in the agricultural area continue working in their fields despite the morning fog and chill.
While winter has yet to fully set in, the combination of morning fog, dew and cooler nights is offering residents a clear taste of the season ahead.
