Two bodies found near DMCH emergency waiting room

Two unidentified bodies, including that of a woman, were recovered from an area beside the emergency department waiting room of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Tuesday.

The body of an unidentified man, believed to be around 60, was recovered at around 7:45am. About four and a half hours later, at around 12:15pm, the body of an unidentified woman, believed to be around 55, was found in the same area.

Their identities could not be immediately established.

Aiyub Ali, acting ward master of the DMCH emergency department, confirmed the recoveries and said the matter had been reported to Shahbagh Police Station.

Inspector Md Habibur Rahman, in-charge of the DMCH police outpost, said the bodies had been kept at the hospital morgue for autopsies.

Legal proceedings are underway, he added.
