Gold prices rise again in Bangladesh markets

DHAKA: Gold prices have increased in Bangladesh, with the new rates taking effect on Friday morning (October 9). Under the revised rates, 22-carat gold, the highest-quality category commonly sold in the domestic market, has been priced at Tk 231,665 per bhori, including VAT.

According to the new rates, 21-carat gold costs Tk 221,281 per bhori, while 18-carat gold is priced at Tk 189,940. Meanwhile, gold sold under the traditional method has been priced at Tk 154,994 per bhori.

The revised prices came into effect on Friday morning, October 9.

Previously, gold prices were reduced in the domestic market on Monday. At that time, the price of 22-carat gold, including VAT, was set at Tk 229,081 per bhori. The prices of 21-carat and 18-carat gold were Tk 218,816 and Tk 187,907 per bhori, respectively. Traditional-method gold was priced at Tk 153,498 per bhori.

With the latest adjustment, gold prices in Bangladesh have been revised 121 times so far this year. Prices have been increased on 59 occasions and reduced on 62 occasions.

In 2025, gold prices in the domestic market were adjusted 93 times. Of these adjustments, prices were raised 64 times and lowered 29 times.
