State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque has spent the night at the Secretariat to prevent another question paper leak ahead of a recruitment examination under the Department of Youth Development.
The minister is supervising the entire process, from preparing the question papers to sending them to examination centres, to ensure their security.
The recruitment test for the post of Assistant Upazila Youth Development Officer is scheduled to be held from 3:00pm to 4:00pm on Friday. Around 319,000 candidates have applied for 242 posts under Grade 11.
The examination was rescheduled after the previous test, scheduled for October 10, was cancelled at the last moment when questions circulated on social media.
Authorities found similarities between the leaked questions and the original paper, leaving thousands of candidates who had travelled to Dhaka facing uncertainty and inconvenience.
A senior official from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and officials from the Department of Youth Development are also staying at the Secretariat to oversee the question-setting process.
To strengthen security, 19 executive magistrates have been assigned to help ensure the examination runs smoothly.
The question papers are scheduled to be transported to examination centres under police escort one hour before the test begins.
Authorities have also changed the locations used for preparing and printing the papers.
A five-member committee has been formed to investigate the previous leak, while six people have been arrested in connection with the incident.
Investigators are examining the roles of those involved in preparing, printing and photocopying the question papers.
Aminul Haque has apologised for the inconvenience caused to candidates and said action would be taken against anyone found involved in the leak, whether from within the ministry or outside it.
The authorities have stepped up monitoring and security measures to prevent a recurrence of the incident and ensure a fair recruitment process.
