Biman Bangladesh Airlines has suspended all flights to Riyadh indefinitely over passenger safety concerns following an attack on an airport in Saudi Arabia.
The national flag carrier is planning to resume flights to Dammam from October 21, subject to approval from the Dammam airport authorities.
The airline disclosed the decisions in a press release issued by its public relations department on Saturday.
Biman said it would decide when to resume Riyadh flights after receiving further instructions from the Riyadh airport authorities. Passengers would be informed of any updates, it added.
Flights to Jeddah and Madinah are continuing as usual, allowing passengers to travel to Saudi Arabia through these two international airports when necessary.
To accommodate passenger demand, Biman is operating higher-capacity aircraft on the Madinah route until October 18. Boeing 787 aircraft will return to the route from October 19, as before.
The airline is also making arrangements to operate additional flights to Jeddah in response to passenger demand.
Biman said it would provide further updates on flight operations and schedules in due course. Passengers have been advised to contact their nearest Biman sales centre for information about ticket purchases, bookings and travel arrangements.
