Jatiya Chhatra Shakti, the student affiliate of the National Citizen Party (NCP), has announced partial committees for its Dhaka North unit.
Advocate Ashikuzzaman Mollah has been named president of the Dhaka North unit, with Md. Tanim Wahid appointed general secretary.
The committees were announced in a notice issued Monday night, October 19, and signed by the organisation’s central president, Abu Bakar Majumdar, and general secretary, Tahmid Al Muddassir Chowdhury. The committees have been approved for one year and have been instructed to form full committees within seven working days.
Mollah led activities from Bangladesh University of Professionals during the July uprising. He later served as a founding central organiser of the Bangladesh Democratic Students’ Parliament and as a member of its Dhaka metropolitan search committee. After Jatiya Chhatra Shakti was launched, he became the founding convener of its Dhaka North unit.
Wahid was one of the coordinators of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in the capital’s Banani area during the July uprising.
