Around 300 families have been forcibly displaced from their homes in the al-Jalda and Ein Deir Baha neighbourhoods of Hebron as Israeli forces continue military operations in the occupied West Bank, Al Jazeera reported on Saturday (October 24).

The Palestinian Authority is responding to the urgent needs of residents affected by the raids.

Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa spoke with Hebron Governor Khaled Dudin and Mayor Yousef al-Ja’bari about the situation and the assistance required by local residents, according to the Palestinian news agency Wafa.

Mustafa instructed relevant authorities to mobilise available resources to meet residents’ immediate needs and help them remain resilient. He also intensified calls for international efforts to pressure Israel to halt its attacks.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces raided Palestinian homes in the towns of Al-Bireh and Birzeit in the occupied West Bank, according to an Al Jazeera correspondent.

Al-Bireh, in the central West Bank, is home to several Palestinian Authority ministries and institutional headquarters. Birzeit, north of Ramallah, is known for its university.

The raids come amid escalating tensions across the occupied West Bank.
