Yemen’s Houthi group has claimed responsibility for three military operations targeting Saudi Arabia, involving dozens of ballistic missiles.

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said on Sunday that the attacks targeted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, King Khalid Air Base in Khamis Mushait and a southern naval base belonging to Saudi border guards in Jizan.

Saree claimed that the strikes hit their intended targets and that the attack on the Jizan base killed and wounded Saudi soldiers and officers.

The casualty claims could not be independently verified.

The Houthis said the operations were carried out in retaliation for Saudi-led airstrikes on Yemen.

They also renewed warnings to airlines, airport staff and passengers against using Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport, describing it as unsafe.

Meanwhile, the Saudi-led coalition said it had intercepted missiles and drones launched towards the kingdom.

Saudi authorities had not confirmed the Houthis’ claims that the three installations were hit.
