More than 50 crude bombs reportedly exploded at a house in Narayanpur Union under Chapainawabganj Sadar upazila on Saturday afternoon, police said.
The explosions occurred around 5:00 pm at the residence of Monirul Islam Kalu in Johorpur Belpara village. No casualties were reported.
According to local residents, over 50 crude bombs had been stored at the house before they exploded one after another with loud blasts.
Police and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel visited the scene after being informed of the incident and launched an investigation.
Confirming the incident, Officer-in-Charge of Chapainawabganj Sadar Model Police Station Ekramul Hossain said police had been sent to the spot after receiving reports of the explosions.
“We will take legal action after completing the investigation,” he said.
