An attack was reported at the central office of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) in the capital’s Paltan area.
The party’s central office, known as Mukti Bhaban, is located in Purana Paltan, Dhaka.
The incident comes amid previous tensions surrounding the party office.
In March 2025, additional police were deployed outside the office following concerns about a possible attack linked to calls on social media to occupy the premises.
The CPB has faced attacks on its office in the past, including a bombing at a party rally in Paltan in January 2001 that killed five people and injured more than 100 others.
Details of the latest incident, including the identities of those involved, the extent of damage and whether anyone was injured, could not be independently verified.
