The meeting focused on addressing the problems faced by expatriate Bangladeshis and realising the aspirations of the anti-discrimination movement through the implementation of the July Charter.
Central and regional leaders of the organisation, community representatives and a large number of Bangladeshi expatriates attended the programme.
The central leadership of NCP Diaspora Alliance Italy was represented by Convener Mohammad Russell, Member Secretary Salauddin Akon and senior member Kamal Mridha.
Speaking on behalf of the organising Veneto Zone, the participants included its Convener Touhid Laskar, Member Secretary Hasibul Islam, Joint Convener Mohammad Naim, researcher Mamun Sheikh and members Ali Ahmed and Saiful Islam.

Solidarity was also expressed by Zahidul Islam, a member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami from Sundarganj in Gaibandha, and Daudul Islam, media secretary of the Lazio region of NCP Diaspora Alliance Italy.
Addressing the meeting, speakers said expatriate Bangladeshis played a vital role in keeping the country’s economy moving by sending remittances, but continued to face various forms of administrative complications and harassment.
They called for simplifying consular services, ensuring social dignity for expatriates both at home and abroad, and taking effective measures to end all forms of harassment against them.
The speakers also stressed the need to implement the July Charter without delay, saying it reflected the aspirations of students and the people who had sacrificed their lives for building a discrimination-free Bangladesh.
They also urged the authorities to take visible steps to control the rising prices of essential commodities, taking into account the purchasing capacity of ordinary people.
The expatriate Bangladeshis attending the meeting expressed their determination to remain united, contribute to the development of their community and play an active role in addressing national challenges facing Bangladesh.
