Faruk Ahmed appointed new SRB DG

Faruk Ahmed, additional inspector general of Highway Police, has been appointed director general (DG) of the Special Response Battalion (SRB).

The Home Ministry issued a notification on Tuesday, announcing the transfer and new postings of seven senior police officials.

According to the notification, the current SRB chief, Additional IGP Ahsan Habib Palash, has been transferred to the Police Directorate as an additional IGP.

Faruk Ahmed will take over as SRB chief with immediate effect in the public interest.

The reshuffle also includes changes to several other senior positions in the police administration.
