The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has raised jet fuel prices again, increasing the rate for domestic flights by Tk 6.32 per litre.

With the latest hike, the price of jet fuel has risen to Tk 189.03 per litre from Tk 182.71, marking the fourth increase in the past four months.

BERC issued a notification announcing the revised prices on Thursday. The new rates will come into effect at midnight.

Under the revised rates, jet fuel for domestic flights will cost Tk 189.03 per litre. For international flights operated by both domestic and foreign airlines, the price has been set at US$1.1637 per litre.

Jet fuel prices for domestic flights have risen steadily over the past four months. In August, the price was Tk 159.52 per litre, which increased to Tk 165.65 in September and further to Tk 182.71 in October. The latest adjustment has pushed the price to Tk 189.03 in November.

According to the BERC notification, the revised prices were determined based on the average Platts rate for Jet A-1 in the international market and the US dollar exchange rate applied to letter of credit (LC) settlements by the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC).

The notification also said the commission had re-fixed the price of Jet A-1 on May 13, 2025, following public hearings and a detailed review of proposals submitted by BPC and Padma Oil Company Limited under Sections 34(4) and 34(6) of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Act, 2003.
