All garment factories across Bangladesh will remain closed on Saturday (November 7) in observance of National Revolution and Solidarity Day.
The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has announced the holiday in line with the government-declared public holiday.
The Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) has also requested its member factories to remain closed on the day.
As Friday is the weekly holiday, garment workers will enjoy two consecutive days off.
The decision comes amid ongoing labour unrest in the garment sector, which has disrupted production at several factories in recent days.
