Education Minister A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon on Tuesday said the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations in Physics, Accounting and Logic may be held again.
Speaking during a discussion on a bill in the Jatiya Sangsad, the minister said the government is considering the move following complaints that many students were unable to sit the exams due to heavy rainfall.
Earlier, during the question-and-answer session, Jamaat-e-Islami MP Shafiqul Islam raised concerns over the ongoing HSC examinations.
He later reiterated the issue during the bill discussion, noting that students were demonstrating outside the National Parliament complex and urging the government to engage with them and resolve the matter quickly.
In response, the education minister said many areas experienced heavy rain on the examination days for Physics, Accounting and Logic, and complaints had been received that numerous candidates reached examination centres soaked or were unable to attend at all.
“We have reviewed the matter. Due to flooding, all HSC examinations under the Chattogram Education Board have been postponed, and those exams will be rescheduled. At that time, we will also be able to arrange fresh examinations for Physics First Paper, Accounting and Logic, Inshallah,” he said.
