The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast gusty winds of up to 60 km/h in 10 regions of the country by 1:00 pm on Thursday, accompanied by rain or thundershowers.
According to the weather forecast for the country’s inland river ports, issued on Thursday (July 23) and valid from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm, the affected regions are Dhaka, Faridpur, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar and Sylhet.
River ports in these areas have been advised to display Local Cautionary Signal No. 1.
The forecast said the regions may experience temporary rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty or squally winds blowing from the south or southeast at speeds of 45-60 km/h.
