Two killed in Thakurgaon road crash

Two people were killed and another critically injured in a road accident in Thakurgaon’s Sadar upazila on Saturday afternoon.

The incident occurred in the Nengrirhat area of Rahimanpur Union when a motorcycle struck a pedestrian and then crashed into an electric pole after losing control.

The deceased were identified as Abul Hossain, 65, a resident of Nengrirhat, and Arnab Islam, 13, from Baliadangi upazila. Both died on the spot.

The injured, Nirab Islam, 16, who was riding the motorcycle, was rushed to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital in critical condition.

According to police, the motorcycle was heading along the road around 2:00pm when Abul Hossain was crossing. The collision caused the rider to lose control, leading to the fatal crash.

Officer-in-Charge Md Shajahan Ali of Thakurgaon Sadar Police Station confirmed the incident.
