Three people were killed and at least eight others were injured in a head-on collision between two passenger buses in Mymensingh on Wednesday evening.
The accident occurred around 5:45pm in the Alalpur area of the Mymensingh–Phulpur regional road, near Khalek Filling Station in Sadar upazila.
According to police and local sources, an Imam Paribahan bus travelling from Mymensingh towards Haluaghat collided head-on with a Shyamoli Bangla Paribahan bus coming from the opposite direction.
One passenger, identified as Abdur Razzak, died at the scene.
Eight injured passengers were taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, where doctors later declared two more people dead.
Police said they are investigating the accident and working to identify the other victims.
Traffic movement on the road has since returned to normal.
