At least five people were killed and five others injured after an Amazon cargo plane overran a runway at Miami International Airport in Florida on Sunday, authorities said.
The Boeing 767-300 freighter, operated by 21 Air for Amazon, was landing after departing from San Juan, Puerto Rico, when it ran off the runway and struck several vehicles before catching fire. Three of the injured were in critical condition.
More than 60 emergency-response units were deployed to the scene. The accident temporarily halted operations at one of the busiest airports in the United States and caused significant flight delays.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have launched investigations into the crash. The identities of those killed have not yet been released.
