The Islamic University, Bangladesh has launched the installation of five kilometres of underground optical fibre to provide uninterrupted internet service at eight residential halls under the HEAT project.
The inauguration took place on Monday (July 6) in front of Shah Azizur Rahman Hall. Vice-Chancellor A K M Matinur Rahman officially inaugurated the project.
Among those present were Pro-Vice-Chancellor M Ayakub Ali, ICT Cell Director Shahjahan Ali, Provost Council President Jalal Uddin, and other university officials.
Speaking at the event, Vice-Chancellor Matinur Rahman said the initiative would significantly strengthen the university’s academic activities by ensuring uninterrupted internet access for students. He expressed hope that the work would be completed quickly and would help the university advance further in technology-based education at both the national and international levels.
