The Bangladesh government has kept profit rates on national savings certificates unchanged for the second half of 2026, maintaining the same rates and conditions that were in effect during the January–June period.

The decision was announced through a notification issued by the Internal Resources Division (IRD) of the Ministry of Finance. Bangladesh Bank has also instructed all scheduled banks to implement the directive.

In a circular issued on Monday (July 6), Bangladesh Bank’s Debt Management Department said the IRD had issued the notification on July 2, confirming that the existing profit rates for all national savings schemes would remain effective from July 1, 2026.

The central bank directed scheduled banks to follow the updated instructions in all savings certificate-related operations and ensure the necessary measures are taken at their respective branches.

As a result, investors in national savings certificates will continue to receive the same profit rates as before. Market observers believe the decision will help maintain stability and confidence among savings certificate investors by keeping the current profit structure unchanged.
