The Chattogram Custom House will auction goods stored in 168 unclaimed containers through two online auctions this.
The information was announced in a press release issued by the National Board of Revenue (NBR) on Tuesday (July 7).
According to the NBR, the regular disposal of unclaimed and auctionable goods is aimed at improving Chattogram Port’s operational efficiency, reducing container congestion, ensuring physical and financial security, and preventing the wastage of state assets.
Under Special e-Auction-08/2026, goods from 93 containers in 76 lots will be auctioned.
Items include chemicals, bitumen, machinery and spare parts, plastic sheets, chest freezers, pipes, fabrics, paper and household goods. No reserve price has been set for this auction.
Meanwhile, e-Auction-07/2026 will offer goods from 75 containers in 55 lots, including capital machinery, fabrics, PVC flex banners, badminton rackets, elevators, air filters, kraft liner paper and salt.
The NBR said the auctions will be conducted entirely through a digital platform to ensure transparency and accountability.
Goods under e-Auction-07/2026 can be inspected from July 13 to 20, while those under Special e-Auction-08/2026 will be available for inspection from July 16 to 23 during office hours.
Online bids for e-Auction-07/2026 can be submitted from July 12 until 3:00 pm on July 22, while bids for Special e-Auction-08/2026 will be accepted from July 14 until 3:00 pm on July 26.
Bidders must upload a scanned copy of a deposit equal to at least 10 percent of the proposed bid value and submit the original documents within the stipulated time.
Successful bidders must meet the relevant conditions under the Import Policy Order 2021–2024 to clear the goods.
The bids for e-Auction-07/2026 will be opened at 3:30 pm on July 22, while bids for Special e-Auction-08/2026 will be opened at 11:00 am on July 27.
The NBR said the technology-driven e-auction system is expected to help reduce container congestion at Chattogram Port while ensuring more efficient management of state assets.
