Corrugated sheets, cash distributed to 31 disaster-hit families

Corrugated iron sheets and cash assistance have been distributed among 31 families affected by natural disasters in Bauphal upazila of Patuakhali.

Patuakhali-2 MP Dr Shafiqul Islam Masud distributed the assistance allocated by the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief at the upazila parishad premises on Sunday afternoon.

Speaking at the programme, Dr Masud said standing beside people during disasters and difficult times is a humanitarian and moral responsibility.

“We are working tirelessly to ensure that no one in Bauphal has to suffer helplessness and hardship,” he said, expressing sympathy for the affected families and assuring them of continued support for their welfare and rehabilitation.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Dr Masud and the organisers after receiving the relief assistance.

Bauphal Upazila Project Implementation Officer Md Rafiqul Islam conducted the programme. Officials from different departments of the upazila administration, local community leaders, civil society representatives, and social and political leaders attended the event.
