Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon has said candidates who were left out of appointments to government primary schools will receive appointment letters by October 1, after the verification process is completed.
He made the statement while responding to questions from journalists at the Education Ministry’s conference room on Monday.
The minister said information on 817 candidates is still being verified, including their addresses and other necessary details. The verification process will continue until October 1, after which the number of candidates eligible for appointment will be finalised.
He said some recommended candidates had changed their addresses, while authorities had been unable to contact others. As a result, their addresses and other information are being verified before appointment letters are issued.
District primary education officers are conducting the verification and will oversee the appointment process, he added.
The minister said a number of media reports had created confusion among candidates by suggesting that some of them might not receive appointments. However, some candidates mentioned in such reports had subsequently received their appointment letters.
He said appointment letters would continue to be issued in phases until the recruitment process is completed. Therefore, it would be premature to reach a final decision about candidates who have not yet received appointment letters before the verification process is completed.
The minister also made it clear that the exact number of candidates who will ultimately be considered for appointment cannot be confirmed at this stage. A final decision will be made based on the information available by October 1.
Prime Minister’s Education Adviser Dr Mahdi Amin, Rural Development and Cooperatives State Minister Mir Shahe Alam, Secondary and Higher Education Division Secretary Abdul Khaleq and Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education Director General Dr Khan Moinuddin Al Mahmud Sohel, among other senior education officials, were present.
