One person died of dengue in Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, while 1,163 new cases were reported during the period, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The information was released in a press statement issued by the DGHS on Friday evening.
Of the newly reported cases, 151 were recorded in Barishal division, 333 in Chattogram, 295 in Dhaka division outside the city corporations, 80 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 45 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 111 in Khulna, 77 in Mymensingh and 71 in Rangpur.
With the latest death, the number of dengue fatalities in the country has reached 250 this year.
A total of 82,761 dengue patients have been hospitalised so far this year, while 5,650 patients are currently receiving treatment in hospitals.
According to the DGHS, 76,861 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals this year.
