The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has indicated that the expected weather system could strengthen monsoon activity, triggering moderate to heavy rainfall in many parts of the country.
Some areas may also experience very heavy downpours, increasing the risk of waterlogging in urban centres and localized flooding in low-lying regions.
Meteorologists said the low-pressure system is expected to develop over the Bay of Bengal before moving inland, bringing rain accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds in several districts.
Authorities have advised residents, particularly those living in flood-prone and landslide-prone areas, to remain alert as heavy rainfall could disrupt normal life and affect transportation.
Fishermen and small boats have also been urged to follow the latest weather advisories before venturing into the sea.
Bangladesh has already experienced above-average monsoon rainfall in recent weeks, with several districts affected by flooding and waterlogging.
The formation of another low-pressure system could prolong the wet spell across the country.
