DHAKA: The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers in different parts of the country, including the capital Dhaka, as the sky may remain partly cloudy to temporarily overcast today.
According to the weather office, winds may blow from the south or southwest at a speed of 10 to 15 kilometers per hour. The lowest temperature recorded in Dhaka this morning was 27.2°C, with relative humidity at 90 percent. The previous day’s highest temperature in the capital was 32.2°C.
Although Dhaka received only light rainfall over the past 24 hours, both daytime and nighttime temperatures may rise slightly today, the government agency said. Sunset today is expected at 6:37 pm, while sunrise tomorrow, Sunday, will be at 5:31 am.
Regarding safety on the country’s inland waterways, the Meteorological Department said there is no warning for river ports until noon today, and no signal needs to be hoisted.
The nationwide forecast says many areas of Dhaka, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, as well as some areas of Rangpur, Rajshahi and Khulna divisions, may experience rain accompanied by temporary gusty winds.
Meanwhile, moderate to very heavy rainfall is possible in some parts of the country.
