Rain is likely in different parts of Bangladesh on Friday, potentially putting a damper on the holiday.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds in many areas of all eight divisions.
Some areas may also experience moderate to heavy rainfall.
The weather conditions are expected to continue until 6pm on Friday, according to the department’s latest 24-hour forecast.
Daytime temperatures may rise slightly across the country, while nighttime temperatures are likely to remain nearly unchanged.
The weather office said a well-marked low-pressure area over Madhya Pradesh and adjoining regions may gradually weaken and merge with the axis of the monsoon trough.
The southwest monsoon remains fairly active over Bangladesh and moderately active over the northern Bay.
Rain and thundershowers are also likely to continue in many parts of the country over the following 24 hours, with isolated areas experiencing moderate to heavy rainfall.
