60 kmph storms may hit 14 districts by noon

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds of 45–60 kmph in 14 districts, including Dhaka, by noon today.

In a special forecast valid from 5:00am to 1:00pm, the BMD said temporary squalls with rain or thundershowers may sweep over Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Kushtia, Jashore, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Cumilla, Noakhali, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar and Sylhet.

The department has advised inland river ports in the affected areas to display Cautionary Signal No. 1 and urged all vessels to operate with caution to avoid possible accidents.
