Ukraine has attacked a warehouse belonging to Wildberries, Russia’s largest online marketplace, just 40 kilometres from Moscow.

Often described as Russia’s “Amazon,” Wildberries has come under repeated attacks since July.

The strike on Sunday was reportedly the biggest attack so far on a Wildberries warehouse.

Ukraine says the attacks are aimed at disrupting supplies to Russian forces on the battlefield. Experts, however, say the broader objective may be to damage Russia’s economy.

Russia said Ukraine also attacked another Wildberries warehouse last Friday, bringing the total number of warehouses targeted to 20.

Experts estimate that Wildberries has suffered losses of around 480 billion roubles, or €4.9 billion, so far as a result of the attacks.
