The United States has withdrawn all its bombers from RAF Fairford in the UK amid heightened security concerns following a suspected terror plot targeting the airbase.
The Pentagon confirmed that all US bombers deployed to Fairford had been redeployed to their home bases in the United States.
Around a dozen B-1 bombers had been stationed at the base and used in US operations against Iran.
The move came after several people were arrested in connection with a suspected plot near RAF Fairford.
British authorities have said there are strong indications of possible Iranian involvement, although Iran has denied the allegations.
RAF Fairford, located about 160 kilometres west of London, has long been used by the US Air Force as a base for bomber operations in the Middle East.
The Pentagon said the bombers remain ready to conduct operations from US bases if required.
