Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 512 people during a 24-hour anti-crime operation in the capital. A total of 48 cases were filed against them at different police stations across the city.
The operations were conducted from midnight Wednesday to midnight Thursday. The DMP disclosed the information in a press release on Friday.
According to the DMP, 39 people were arrested from the Ramna division, 40 from Lalbagh, 70 from Wari, 71 from Motijheel, 47 from Tejgaon, 116 from Mirpur, 56 from Gulshan, 56 from Uttara, and 17 by the Detective Branch.
During the operations, police also seized 1.204 kilograms of cannabis, 4 grams of heroin, 16,333 yaba tablets, 50 bottles of Phensedyl, five motorcycles, and Tk 15,400 in cash.
