Security forces, in coordination with police, have killed 49 terrorists in a series of intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan over the past few days, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
ISPR said 12 terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij were killed during operations in Bannu, North Waziristan, Orakzai and Khyber districts of KP. Weapons, ammunition, explosives, improvised explosive device (IED) detonators and motorcycles were also recovered and destroyed, it added.
In Balochistan, 37 terrorists identified by ISPR as members of Fitna al-Hindustan were killed in 10 intelligence-based operations in Mastung, Mach, Khuzdar and Panjgur districts.
According to the military’s media wing, the operations were part of an ongoing counterterrorism campaign.
ISPR said the security forces remained determined to eliminate militant networks and prevent attempts to undermine peace and stability in the country.
