Three vehicles have been fined a total of Tk2,500 for using hydraulic horns that exceeded the permitted noise level in Tangail.
The mobile court conducted the drive at Rabna Bypass on the Dhaka-Tangail Highway in Tangail Sadar upazila on Sunday (October 18), led by Executive Magistrate Rakib Hasan of the district administration.
The joint operation by the district administration and the Department of Environment aimed to curb noise pollution. During the drive, officials seized six hydraulic horns from the three vehicles and imposed the fines.
Assistant Director of the Department of Environment’s Tangail office Tapas Chandra Pal and law enforcement personnel were present during the operation.
Zahirul Islam Talukder, deputy director of the department’s district office, said such drives would continue to protect the environment.
