Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff narrowly escaped an attack in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday night after an assailant’s gun reportedly jammed at close range. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the incident, raising fresh concerns over threats against celebrities.
Several CCTV clips and mobile phone videos of the incident have gone viral on social media. One video shows Tiger returning to his BMW after playing football at a park in Juhu when three assailants allegedly opened fire at his vehicle.
The attackers reportedly fired 10 rounds, triggering panic in the area. Footage circulating online appears to show two men attempting to shoot directly at the actor through the vehicle’s windscreen and windows. However, one attacker’s firearm reportedly jammed, allowing Tiger to escape unharmed.
The videos also show Tiger’s driver, Firdous, getting out of the vehicle after the gun malfunctioned. Another accomplice was reportedly waiting nearby on a motorcycle, and the attackers fled on it.
Bloodstains were visible on the vehicle and the road in some of the videos. According to police sources, Firdous sustained serious injuries and is receiving treatment at a hospital. His condition is stable. A local autorickshaw driver also suffered minor injuries in the incident.
After his driver was injured, Tiger reportedly took control of the steering wheel and drove away from the scene. A viral video shows the actor in the driver’s seat as the vehicle speeds away.
Police said one person has been detained in connection with the attack, but the suspect’s identity has not been disclosed for the sake of the investigation.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the shooting. In a statement, the group also threatened severe consequences for people associated with actor Salman Khan.
