Bangladesh and Malaysia-based international non-profit organisation Youth Hub Foundation Berhad drew widespread attention at the Malaysian Youth SDG Summit 2026 after participating as a Strategic Partner in the national policy consultation on the future of Malaysia’s social economy.
The organisation’s exhibition booth emerged as one of the most visited among 13 exhibitors, showcasing a range of youth-led innovations and sustainable development initiatives that attracted policymakers, development practitioners, diplomats and international visitors.
The summit, held under the theme “The Future of the Social Economy,” served as a national policy consultation supporting Malaysia’s 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK-13) and the Six Helix Innovation Model. The event brought together representatives from government, academia, industry, civil society, media and youth organisations to formulate policy recommendations aimed at strengthening Malaysia’s social economy.
Malaysia’s Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Mordi Anak Bimol, inaugurated the summit. Among the distinguished speakers were Datuk Dr Denison Jayasooria, Head of the APPGM-SDG Secretariat, United Nations Resident Coordinator for Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei Nicholas Minton, while Senator Dr Haji Zulkifli Johari delivered the closing address. The event was coordinated by Joel Ng, Director of the MySDG Academy.
At its exhibition booth, Youth Hub Foundation Berhad highlighted a diverse portfolio of programmes focused on sustainable development and youth empowerment. The displays featured eco-print products, clay jewellery, reusable sanitary pads made from recycled garment waste, digital skills training, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), future employment initiatives, social entrepreneurship, women’s empowerment, leadership development and public health awareness.
Visitors responded positively to the organisation’s practical approaches to addressing social, economic and environmental challenges through innovation and community engagement.
The Youth Hub delegation was led by Niyan Saha, Head of the Creative and Cultural Department. Other members included SDG Agents Rafiqul Islam, Zarif Hamim Iram and Kazi Nafia Islam, who introduced Bangladesh’s youth-led initiatives and the organisation’s programmes to representatives of international organisations, development partners and participating institutions throughout the summit.
Participants said the organisation’s presence underscored Bangladesh’s growing role in promoting youth innovation, technology education, women’s empowerment and social entrepreneurship at the international level. They also noted that the participation could help strengthen cooperation between Bangladesh and Malaysia in youth development, innovation, skills development and sustainable development partnerships.
