Three Bangladeshi nationals were killed and another seriously injured following a violent clash among co-workers in Malaysia’s Negeri Sembilan state, police said.
The incident occurred on Monday afternoon at a house in the Taman Linggi area of Port Dickson.
According to Malaysian daily The New Straits Times, quoting Negeri Sembilan Police Chief Alzafny Ahmad, a Bangladeshi man in his 40s has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Police said they received a report at around 4:00 pm local time that several Bangladeshi workers had been involved in a fight at the house.
Following the report, a team from Linggi Police Station arrived at the scene and arrested the suspect.
During the preliminary investigation, officers later discovered two more bodies in the Sua Manggis Estate area of Linggi.
Police said the three victims had sustained severe injuries to various parts of their bodies and were pronounced dead at the scene. Another Bangladeshi national was seriously injured and is receiving treatment at Rembau Hospital.
Initial investigations indicate that all those involved were co-workers who lived and worked together.
Authorities believe the incident unfolded across multiple locations and are investigating the sequence of events and what triggered the violence.
Police said preliminary checks found no previous criminal record against the suspect. He is expected to be produced before the Port Dickson Magistrate’s Court for a remand hearing.
The case is being investigated as murder under Section 302 of Malaysia’s Penal Code. Police said the motive behind the killings has yet to be determined, and investigations are ongoing.
