Ahmadul Kobir, Malaysia: A new 51-member executive committee of the Brahmanbaria District Association, an organisation representing expatriates from Brahmanbaria living in Malaysia, has been formed for the 2026-2027 term.
Businessman Mohammad Jahangir Alam Bhuiyan has been elected president, while Mohammad Akhtar Hossain has been appointed general secretary of the new committee.
The new committee was announced at an extended meeting of the association held recently at the Astro Hotel in Chow Kit, Kuala Lumpur.
The meeting was chaired by Mohammad Russell Shikdar and moderated by Mohammad Saidur Rahman Sarker.
Among those attending were the organisation’s adviser Zakirul Islam Khan, Vice-President Md Mohsin Mia, and leaders and members including Jasim, Mohammad Jahangir, Md Sajib and Md Zainal Mia.
Speakers at the meeting stressed the importance of strengthening unity, mutual cooperation and solidarity among expatriates from Brahmanbaria living in Malaysia.
They said the association should play a more active role in supporting expatriates who face difficulties, particularly during emergencies and crises, while promoting a sense of community and brotherhood among people from the district.
The speakers also called for stronger coordination among members to make the association’s welfare and social activities more effective.
Newly elected President Mohammad Jahangir Alam Bhuiyan and General Secretary Mohammad Akhtar Hossain pledged to make the organisation more active in promoting the welfare and interests of Brahmanbaria expatriates in Malaysia.
They said the new committee would stand beside expatriates in both good and difficult times and work to strengthen unity and mutual support within the community.
The new leaders sought the cooperation of all members and Brahmanbaria expatriates in Malaysia to make the association’s activities more dynamic, inclusive and effective.
