Ahmadul Kobir, Malaysia: The body of a 27-year-old Bangladeshi man, Md Fahad Hossan, who was buried in a landslide at a vegetable farm in Malaysia’s Lojing Highlands, has been recovered.

Fahad was trapped under the soil following the landslide at the vegetable farm on Friday.

His body was located at 12:55pm on Sunday by Frankie, a trained tracker dog from the K9 Unit of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department. Rescue personnel subsequently recovered the body from beneath a heap of soil.

Gua Musang District Police Chief Superintendent Sik Choon Foo said the body of the Bangladeshi worker was found buried under a large heap of soil at the landslide site.

He said the search and rescue operation resumed at 8am on Sunday for the second consecutive day. The operation involved 20 firefighters, three trained tracker dogs and an excavator.

After an extensive search of the soil heap, K9 tracker dog Frankie detected Fahad’s location, allowing the rescue team to recover his body.

Details about Fahad’s hometown in Bangladesh and how long he had been working in Malaysia were not immediately available.

Following the recovery operation, his body was handed over to the police for further procedures.
