Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has urged expatriate workers, including Bangladeshis, to issue or renew their work permits (Rukhsa Amal) within the stipulated timeframe to avoid legal action.
According to a notice shared by the Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh, expatriate workers whose work permits expired more than 12 months ago, as well as those who entered Saudi Arabia or changed employers but have not obtained work permits within six months, must complete the required procedures by the end of 2026.
The ministry said the initiative is intended to ensure compliance with the Kingdom’s labour laws while safeguarding the rights of both employers and employees.
It warned that workers who fail to obtain or renew their permits before the deadline could face legal action.
The Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh also urged Bangladeshi expatriates to complete the necessary procedures on time to avoid complications.
