Bangladesh-China Parliamentary Friendship Group holds 1st meet

Dhaka: The first meeting of the Bangladesh-China Parliamentary Friendship Group was held at the Jatiya Sangsad (National Parliament) on Tuesday, with the group’s Chairman, MP Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, presiding over the session.

The meeting began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by an introductory session among members and preliminary discussions.

The meeting was attended by committee members MP Md. Shahidul Islam, MP Md. Hasan Rajib Pradhan, MP Johorat Adib Chowdhury, MP Mahmuda Habiba, MP Mohammad Najibur Rahman, MP Mohammad Mosleh Uddin Farid, and MP Md. Abul Hasnat.

During the meeting, members highlighted the long-standing friendship between Dhaka and Beijing and reviewed China’s role and strategic importance in the current global geopolitical landscape.

They also emphasized the need to deepen the bilateral strategic partnership between Bangladesh and China, increase exchanges of parliamentary delegations, and promote greater Chinese investment in Bangladesh to help reduce the existing trade imbalance between the two countries.
