Dhaka: Two years after the July Revolution, bilateral relations between the United States and Bangladesh are in a “very good place,” according to former US State Department diplomat John F. Danilovich.
In a post on X on Sunday (August 2), Danilovich said that US-Bangladesh ties have remained strong and continued to progress positively despite the electoral processes in both countries.
Sharing a photo of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman with US Special Envoy for South and Central Asia Ambassador Sergio Gor, he wrote that credit should be given to those in both countries who have prioritized the importance of the bilateral relationship.
The former US official said cooperation between the governments and peoples of the two nations is strengthening the partnership even further.
In a lighthearted remark, Danilovich also referred to Bangladeshi political leader Tarique Rahman, saying it was good to see that he now understands how uncomfortable it can be to wear a Western-style business suit in Dhaka’s August heat.
His comments come at a time when Bangladesh and the United States have been expanding engagement in areas such as trade, investment, security, and regional cooperation. Despite political changes, both countries have maintained consistent diplomatic communication to further strengthen bilateral ties.
