The Indian High Commission in Dhaka has issued a public warning urging Bangladeshi visa applicants to remain cautious of fraudulent individuals and agencies claiming they can secure Indian visas or appointment slots in exchange for extra money.
According to the mission, applicants should use only the official visa application process and avoid dealing with unauthorized agents or middlemen.
The High Commission stressed that no person or agency is authorized to guarantee visas or faster appointments for additional fees.
The mission also clarified that, apart from the standard BDT 1,500 visa processing fee charged by the Indian Visa Application Centre (IVAC), no extra payment is required to obtain or expedite an appointment. It warned that anyone demanding additional charges is attempting to deceive applicants.
Applicants have been advised to submit visa applications only through the official IVAC channels and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
The advisory comes as visa demand has risen following the restoration of regular visa services for Bangladeshi nationals.
