Fuad Hussein and Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud held talks on Wednesday on preparations for upcoming high-level visits between Iraq and Saudi Arabia, according to Iraqi state media.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of a ministerial gathering on Jerusalem in Amman, the Iraqi News Agency reported, citing a foreign ministry statement.

The two sides reviewed arrangements for a planned visit by an Iraqi security delegation to Saudi Arabia and discussed reciprocal visits at multiple levels aimed at boosting bilateral coordination and cooperation.

Hussein later said on X that the talks also covered preparations for a visit by Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi to the kingdom—his first since taking office in May—though no date was announced.

The diplomatic engagement comes amid heightened regional tensions, following recent strikes by the United States Armed Forces and Saudi forces on targets linked to Iran-aligned groups in Iraq.

According to the US military, the operation targeted sites associated with attacks on US personnel and Saudi energy infrastructure.

Officials say the planned visits are part of broader efforts to stabilise ties and deepen cooperation between the two countries.
