Two Bangladeshi nationals who were kidnapped in Ethiopia have been rescued and safely repatriated to Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Embassy in Addis Ababa said on Friday (September 4).
According to the embassy, the two citizens were abducted in Addis Ababa and were later rescued through coordinated efforts by the Bangladesh Embassy, Ethiopian police and relevant law-enforcement authorities.
After the necessary legal procedures were completed, the two victims returned to Bangladesh and were reunited with their families.
The embassy said they had remained in Addis Ababa under its close supervision and security arrangements for more than two months since June 23 while various legal and administrative procedures were being completed in Ethiopia.
The Bangladesh Embassy expressed its sincere greetings and best wishes to the two returnees and their families.
