Dr Zubaida Rahman, wife of Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, met US First Lady Melania Trump at a special event in New York on Tuesday, held on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Zubaida attended the event at The St Regis New York in Manhattan at Melania’s invitation. The White House organised the gathering as part of Melania’s “Fostering the Future Together” initiative, bringing together first spouses and senior representatives from different countries.
Discussions focused on children’s quality education, digital skills, technology, artificial intelligence and online safety for children. The initiative seeks to promote global cooperation to expand children’s access to education and technology while protecting them from online risks.
Zubaida had earlier attended the Fostering the Future Together Global Coalition Summit in Washington, DC, in March at Melania’s invitation. The summit brought together first spouses and technology-sector leaders to discuss education technology, AI in education, online safety and digital literacy.
