A 16-member delegation of the Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI) participated in the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) in Kuala Lumpur and held a series of meetings with Malaysian government officials and business leaders.

The delegation attended the opening ceremony of MIHAS in the Malaysian capital on September 25, where Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi was present.

During the event, Ahmad Zahid also took a selfie with BMCCI Vice-President Arfatur Rahman Apel.

The exhibition brought together government representatives, economic analysts and business leaders from more than 100 countries.

During their visit, members of the BMCCI delegation held discussions with senior Malaysian government officials and international business leaders on expanding bilateral trade, exploring new investment opportunities and promoting joint ventures between Bangladesh and Malaysia.

The delegation later held a meeting with officials of the Bangladesh High Commission in Malaysia.

The discussions focused on a range of issues related to bilateral economic relations, including facilitating trade and business between the two countries, increasing remittance flows and addressing the bilateral trade imbalance.

BMCCI leaders expressed the hope that such international engagements would help strengthen economic relations between Bangladesh and Malaysia and create new opportunities for Bangladeshi businesses in international markets.
