The Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh has issued an urgent warning to Bangladeshi expatriates in Saudi Arabia, urging them to strictly comply with local laws and refrain from activities that could violate public order or social peace.
In a special notice issued on Thursday, the embassy advised Bangladeshis not to take photographs or record videos of restricted areas or facilities, sensitive incidents or subjects, or other unnecessary content.
The embassy also urged expatriates to exercise caution when using social media platforms such as Facebook, YouTube and X.
They were advised not to publish, share, store or exchange content that violates Saudi laws, public safety or public order.
They were also asked to refrain from liking, commenting on or sharing such content.
The notice also outlined restrictions around the Bangladesh Embassy and the Diplomatic Quarter in Riyadh.
Expatriates have been asked not to loiter inside, outside or around the embassy without a service-related purpose.
Photography and video recording in those areas without permission are also prohibited.
The embassy warned that violations of these instructions could constitute offences punishable under Saudi law.
It urged all Bangladeshi nationals to act responsibly, remain aware of local regulations and respect Saudi laws to ensure a safe and orderly life in the country.
