BGCCI, German Embassy celebrate Oktoberfest 2026

The Bangladesh-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BGCCI), in collaboration with the German Embassy in Bangladesh, hosted Oktoberfest 2026 in Dhaka on Saturday, bringing together diplomats, business leaders and members of the German and European communities to celebrate German culture and strengthen bilateral ties.

German Ambassador to Bangladesh Dr Rüdiger Lotz attended the event as the chief guest, while European Union Ambassador to Bangladesh Michael Miller joined as a distinguished guest.

The gathering highlighted the importance of cultural exchange, business networking and continued cooperation between Bangladesh, Germany and the European Union.

In his welcome address, BGCCI President Md Rokonuzzaman, FCA, reaffirmed the chamber’s commitment to strengthening trade, investment and business cooperation between Bangladesh and Germany.

Ambassador Lotz underscored the role of cultural exchange and people-to-people engagement in deepening relations between the two countries.

The inauguration featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony, an unveiling ceremony and the traditional German toast, “Prost!” Guests also enjoyed Bavarian-themed cultural performances presented by the Goethe-Institut team, followed by a networking reception and dinner.
