A magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck Indonesia’s Flores region on Monday, according to the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ). The quake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres.
The tremor came two days after a powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake hit Flores, killing at least 53 people and forcing thousands of residents to seek shelter outdoors amid fears of further aftershocks.
The latest quake was part of a continuing sequence of aftershocks following the deadly main earthquake.
